Introduction to company:
Arc Specialist Engineering is the parent company of a number of a number of specialist engineering businesses. We have a combined turnover of £50million and just over 200 employees. The group includes Cooper Coated Coil, EWS, TBF International, Toolspec and EWS (Manufacturing) Ltd. Each business is established and recognised in its own right. From non-stick coating technology to specialist tubing and pressings, Arc Specialist Engineering manufacture niche products for the likes of Jaguar Landrover, Aston martin, JCB and many more.
As part of our Graduate Engineering Management Programme you will have opportunities to rotate through the group to gain a greater understanding of how the Arc group and its associated businesses work.
You will work on different areas of the business that will help improve efficiency, productivity and cost effectiveness. These will include, but may not be limited to, process development, continuous improvement, new product design, technical procurement and business development. Naturally a strong communicator, you will work with our teams internally to ensure that we are working in the best way possible. You will also be comfortable working and liaising with existing clients.
As each business within the group is different your experiences will be varied meaning that throughout your time on the programme you will gain a wide variety of skills that will support you when moving into a long term position. Due to the nature of our business, it is important that you come from an engineering background in order to fully understand and appreciate our processes.
Duties and responsibilities:
As a graduate engineer you will be tasked with improving the current performance of one, or more, of the businesses that lie within the Arc group. Once established into a long-term role you will be directly involved in a more specific area such as;
• Production management
• Process development
• Technical procurement
• Continuous improvement
• Project management
• Business Development
You will also develop strong commercial awareness through your rotations in order to meet business goals and KPI’s. This will be achieved through planning, good project management, working to cost targets and hitting project milestones
Academically, we are looking for CCC (or higher) at A-level and a 2:2 degree (or higher) from an engineering-related discipline such as Mechanical, Manufacturing, Production or Chemical Engineering within the last 3 years. You will have strong communication skills both verbal and written. You will also be;

• £25,000 per annum

• Arc’s Graduate Forum – in addition to your mentoring meetings, you will meet with other graduates in the business and Arc’s CEO, Andrew Richardson, every 4-6 weeks. This will be an excellent opportunity for you to share your experiences with others, discuss any challenges you’re having, talk about topical issues and share any ideas you have for continual improvement.
