The Black Country Chamber of Commerce is a not-for-profit organisation based in the heart of the Black Country. Established in 2001, the Chamber provides an all-encompassing package of support to companies from across the region. It works with a diverse portfolio of organisations, from sole-traders to large multinationals, in a range of industrial sectors, including manufacturing, construction, education and business services. Based on a market needs analysis, the Chamber now wants to extend its membership offer and is looking for an enthusiastic and self-motivated Digital Communications Officer to help them realise their objectives.

With a proven ability to design and develop effective digital communication strategies, you will have a good understanding of the digital marketing tree, particularly SEO, social media and email marketing. You will have experience in digital copywriting and editing and be able to use established business tools to analyse, design and develop client-focused digital communications and online strategies. With a good understanding of content management and customer relationship management, you will be able to combine your technical knowledge with your creativity and innovation to build and maintain sustainable B2B relationships. You will also have the skills to use offline mediums to launch and promote the Chamber’s products and services.

Being a confident communicator with excellent interpersonal skills and a strong commitment to customer service, you will be able to liaise with a diverse client group in order to understand their needs and to use the information to shape future products and services. You will be able to monitor and manage online platforms using established analytical tools. You will also be able to use your organisational and time management skills to manage multiple deadlines and to ensure the project is completed in line with the Chamber’s objectives.

Qualified to degree level in Marketing, Digital Marketing or other related disciplines, along with a good understanding of Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative applications, you will have a portfolio of knowledge and skills that can be used to add value to this exciting project.

You will be mentored, throughout the duration of the project, by an experienced academic from the University of Wolverhampton and by the Head of Marketing and Communications at the Chamber.
