Location: London
Start date: Aug-2018
Sectors: Computing & IT, Science & Technology, Finance, Research & Analysis

BidFX are seeking final year IT undergraduates to join our 2018 software engineering training programme based in London. We are recruiting now for students due to complete their course next summer. Employment will nominally commence in Summer 2018, although we can offer flexibility on start date.

BidFX are a FinTech start-up on a mission to disrupt the foreign exchange market, applying innovative technology to tap FX liquidity. Foreign exchange is the largest financial market in the world with $5 trillion traded every day. We are a small but fast growing company with big, global aspirations. We aim to connect the world of finance. We operate a successful core trading platform, with direct connectivity to all major banks, fronted by a sophisticated trading user interface. We seek talented graduate who wish to help us fulfil our vision and share in our success. We value diversity and offer equal opportunities to all.

BidFX handle daily trade volumes in the tens of billions of dollars and our averages are growing exponentially. We need to expand our team to match our performance. In part, we will achieve this by recruiting and training some of the best IT graduates each year.

To join our graduate training programme, you will need to have:

• Predicted first class or 2:1 degree in Computer Science or related subject.
• Studied at a Russell Group university.
• Solid programming experience in either: Java or JavaScript.
• Excellent spoken and written English.
• Right to work in the UK.

You will be enthusiastic, organised and adaptable: a quick learner, able to pick up new technology with relative ease. You will have a flair for software design & development, be dedicated to quality and have a passion for programming. You will also have good interpersonal and be able to fit easily into a multi-discipline team.

You will be given the opportunity to work in an agile environment, developing key systems using the latest technology. Many graduates are unsure of which aspects of IT they want to apply themselves to: front-end, middleware, server-side, full-stack, database or DevOps. Our training programme will let you experience a wide range of technologies and programming languages, so you can ascertain which is right for you before you feel a need to specialise.

Expect to work on projects involving any of: Java, JavaScript, C#, Python, Ruby, SQL, Excel, front-end UI, middleware, server-side, cloud services, REST, binary protocols, FIX connectivity, security, instrumentation, reports, UI designs, graphics and more. You already know how to program but we will teach you how to develop production quality financial applications and services that transact billions of dollars per day. You'll be taught by the best, so expect to learn to do things right.

We do not require applicants to know the details of the foreign exchange markets, we will provide training, but an interest in finance would be of benefit.
