Airbus Defence and Space Cyber Security UK provides cyber defence solutions and services to Government and Critical National Infrastructure customers within the UK. Our trusted, high performance security products and services are used to detect, analyse and counter the most advanced cyber attacks.


The Security Engineering team in Newport work closely with our customers and with our Security Operating Centre (SOC) teams to specify design and implement effective cyber defence platforms and services, including:
¤ Security Incident and Event Monitoring of customer networks and systems
¤ Security Incident Response
¤ Intrusion Detection and Prevention
¤ Vulnerability Analysis and Management
¤ Threat Intelligence and Detection


You will have opportunity to grow your ICT skills in both network engineering and security engineering, by developing ISO27001 compliant solutions operating within an ITIL v3 service framework.


As your skills grow, you will have opportunity to contribute across the full lifecycle from initial preparation of customer proposals, through design, implementation and service transition, to service operation and support.


Tasks


Main activities of the role may include;


¤ Contributing to specification, design, implementation, test, verification and acceptance of cyber defence solutions and services
¤ Designing and integrating components into a SOC service, such as vulnerability management, threat intelligence etc
¤ Developing an understanding of Security Operations Service Management, supporting the preparation of Service Definitions and operating procedures
¤ Following a Personal Development Plan to grow your cyber security knowledge and expertise with a view to eventual Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification


This job requires an awareness of any potential compliance risks and a commitment to act with integrity, as the foundation for the Company's success, reputation and sustainable growth.

Successful candidates will be able to demonstrate the following;


¤ Good understanding of Information Systems, Networking components and architectures, and principles of Cyber Security ¤ Evidence of successful project work and/or work experience relevant to the role
¤ Evidence of successful working as part of a team
¤ Evidence of creative and innovative thinking
¤ Confident personality with good communication skills

This role will be based in Newport (South Wales) and will receive the full Airbus Defence & Space Graduate programme benefit package including an annual Salary of £27,000, plus a welcome payment of £2,000.
