Dstl is all about innovation and multidisciplinary creativity. We're responsible for designing, developing and applying the very latest in science and technology for the benefit of UK defence and security, across government. We work with the best people with the best ideas around the world - from very small organisations to world-class universities, huge defence companies and, sometimes, other nations. Together we develop battle-winning technologies, based on deep and widespread research, to support UK military operations, now and in the future.

Join our graduate development programme, and you'll help find unexpected solutions to problems. Computer science is a growing area within Dstl as we work to support the development of military and security cyber capability, maximising the impact of information on the defence and security of the UK. From developing critical software intensive systems to maintaining a number of military campaign-level models, you'll enhance your skills and experience while benefitting from excellent training. It's a chance to work at the cutting edge of IT and defence in a technically challenging and complex world.

To join us in this interesting and involved role, you'll need an honours degree at 2.2 or higher information security, data communications, software development, information systems engineering, management science or a related discipline. While not essential, a masters or PhD in a related field would set you apart. An excellent communicator, you'll bring strong motivation together with proven team working and problem solving skills. Ultimately, you'll be able to think systematically, logically, creatively and sometimes deviously to find innovative solutions to defence issues as they emerge.
