Our client is one of the most dynamic and disruptive companies in the UK at the moment. 

They were set up in 2010 and have turned the finance world on its head. They are an online marketplace which allows savers to lend money directly to small and medium sized businesses.  

The guys who have backed it have set up the likes of LoveFilm, Twitter and Skype to name but a few. (Bit of name-dropping there...). Over half a billion pounds has already been lent to small businesses through their site since they launched! Jaw dropping stuff!

The Role:    

This is an entry-level position suitable to someone who is analytical, curious, a team player and keen to get started on their career within the company. Joining the Underwriting Assistants team, your role will be fast paced, high volume and full of opportunities to learn how the company operates.  

Your main tasks will include (but are not limited to):    

  1. Preparing documents for underwriters to review    
  2. Undertaking searches on companies and their directors    
  3. Inputting financial accounts submitted by businesses    
  4. Populating advanced credit scoring models    
  5. Emailing borrowers that their loan application has been successful   
  6. And finally, uploading the successful applications to our website for investors to review  

In addition to this, we actively try to give the team exposure to a variety of different tasks. These range from data entry and analysis, to larger projects.    

Typical examples are:   

  1. Reviewing our competitors activity Explaining and teaching new starters from across the business what the team does    
  2. Liaising with product and tech teams to ensure new product launches go smoothly    
  3. Quality control work - highlighting, analysing and resolving errors
