Details
Description
Ready to kickstart a Logistics career with a leading manufacturer? Join Forterra on a 24-month Distribution Graduate programme and you will gain management responsibility, brand new skills, and the exposure you need to make it big. You’ll develop a strong and detailed understanding of our Logistics Operation, the legal requirements we work to and the distribution procedures we operate, all while earning £30,988!
About the opportunity
Over the course of the programme, you will develop detailed knowledge of the Forterra Distribution process, allowing you to understand how our business runs efficiently. You’ll gain experience in a breadth of roles across our Transport department including Planning, Compliance, Engineering and Management, supporting the achievement of budget objectives in all.
You’ll learn all about our competitor landscape, keeping on top of product and marketing developments in commercial, technical and policy matters. We’ll teach you how to maintain and operate internal reports and systems, as well as how to read stock profiles and levels for each factory. Responsibilities you could own on the programme include:
- Analysing gross weight of vehicles and load sizes, exploring opportunities to increase volume to reduce costs and our impact on the environment
- Understanding the end-to-end production planning, from identifying the actual need for the product to completion of the final process
- Analysing telematic distribution data and using this to implement opportunities for improvements
By the end of your structured training period, where you will be mentored throughout, you should be ready to take on a permanent role within our commercial function!
About you
We’re looking for highly motivated teammates with a 2:1 (or equivalent) in any subject area. You’ll need to be capable of working on your own initiative as well as prioritizing your workload. Experience with Microsoft Excel would be helpful but is not essential. You will need a full driving licence, as well as the ability to travel to sites across the UK. Other qualities we’d like to see include:
- Excellent communication and relationship skills
- Strong analytical, reporting and presentation skills
- IT knowledge
- Good organisation and planning skills
