DCC Business IT Graduate Programme
Your Future, Accelerated
Explore global opportunities with an ever-expanding business. Reach the highest levels of the commercial world. Go from being a talented, ambitious graduate to being the future of our company. These are just some of the things that could be in store for you when you join us at DCC.
Who are we?
DCC is a FTSE 100 company operating across four divisions in over 40 businesses across 20 countries. You might be asking yourself why you have not heard of DCC. Each of our businesses operates under their own brand and has local senior management teams. All of our 13,200 employees are bound together by our core values and these define how we operate.
We are a diverse Group which means you will have a wide range of career paths to choose from, now and in the future. We can give you the chance to make an impact in the roles you are in and you will have many challenges and learning opportunities on the programme.
Our intensive programme
DCC offers a unique environment in which to develop an IT career. For us, IT is about translating opportunities into added value so our Business IT Graduates focus less on the technology itself and more on how technology can be used to drive competitive advantage.
Few development experiences can match the intensity of the DCC Business IT Graduate Programme. Over two years, you’ll build up knowledge and skills in different companies, different divisions, and potentially different countries as well.
“The standout point for me about the DCC Graduate Programme is the
investment the company makes in you. DCC hire you for the future – not
just for the two-year programme.” – Business IT Graduate
Your opportunity to drive our continuing growth
IT has been a critical enabler of growth at DCC, not just in terms of the technology itself but more importantly how it is applied to the business.
As a Business IT Graduate, this gives you the opportunity to add real value to the organisation as you master the role of business analyst and learn how systems such as SAP and Oracle are deployed across our businesses. In the longer term, you will act almost as an internal consultant providing an interface between technical teams and the rest of the business and managing major projects from beginning to end.
Get involved in our Business IT projects
This programme puts you at the heart of the action, introducing you to a diverse range of responsibilities, challenges, and experiences across our global business.
A typical day for our Business IT Graduates can include:
- Designing and delivering a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) database for a sales function
- Upgrading a web proposition to support Business-to-Business (B2B) marketing activity
- Integrating newly acquired companies onto our IT systems
- Managing IT system implementations
- Involvement in internal business improvement projects
- Enjoying a team lunch or socialising with colleagues after work
Ongoing development and support
Learning happens in the classroom as well as on the job, and we will also provide funding for you to gain a professional qualification or to pursue language lessons. You will be supported throughout the programme by your Line Manager, a dedicated Coach, a Graduate Buddy, your Graduate Programme Business Contact and of course, the Graduate Programme team.
What we look for
Given the global nature of the programme, it’s essential that you are internationally mobile and have the unrestricted right to work in the UK, the Republic of Ireland and within the European Economic Area (EEA). You also need a 2:1 degree (or equivalent – e.g. BAC+5) plus strong team-working, communication and relationship-building skills. Your degree can be in any discipline, although ideally it should have some relation to business IT.
The DCC Future Leaders Graduate Programme is a different kind of programme for a different kind of graduate. Here, you will be able to reach the highest levels of the commercial world without surrendering your individuality to one of the big brands.
