Are you looking for your first step into your procurement career? Procurement at the CNC is a critical matter. It’s vital that we meet legal obligations and achieve value for money. Join us and you’ll have the chance to gain experience and quality for your MCIPS Level 6 Professional Diploma within your first 2 years of employment.

Your main task will be to scope, award, manage and evaluate a broad range of CNC contracts, whilst providing expert advice and a prompt, professional service. You’ll manage tenders from end-to-end, spot potential new areas of supply and encourage best practice. You’ll also support the continuous improvement of commercial terms and conditions, policies, and service level agreements. It’s all about creating a function that’s as effective as possible.

You’ll have a keen interest in pursuing a career within procurement and becoming an accredited procurement professional. You’ll need to have a degree qualification, in a subject with a clear link to Supply Chain/Commercial Operations with a minimum of a 2:2. From this you’ll understand commercial and public sector procurement, general business issues and the negotiation and managing of contracts with a working understanding of contract law. You’ll be adept at building excellent working relationships with a variety of stakeholders, whilst understanding the differing needs of internal and external customers. This role has been assessed as suitable for hybrid working with a 60% / 40% split, which will be discussed and agreed with the successful individual.
