Newport Industries are expanding fast with an average growth rate of 15% per annum. We have an exciting new role available in the team for a right-minded person to develop their career and use their technical knowledge of chemistry in a commercial environment. Because we are a growing business, there is also a longer-term opportunity to use your knowledge and company experience to progress into various other areas such as; B2B Sales, Quality Assurance/Control, Logistics or Finance.

This position will require you to use your chemistry knowledge and technical writing ability to assist with technical documentation which will involve heavy use of Social Media, Shopify and large online retail web platforms. You will learn to develop marketing campaigns based on end user applications, and will be involved in production planning.  You will need to keep documentation up to date, and provide technical assistance for our online presence, Store and Apps. After some additional training you will also provide technical sales advice to customers about using our products.

Newport Industries is a leading global sourcer and distributor of chemicals and minerals. We are now one of the leading minerals players in the UK, so it’s an exciting time to join the business! - Established over 20 years ago, we have offices on 3 continents, successfully supplying hundreds of industrial mineral and chemical products to a very diverse range of application industries including glass, ceramics, construction, coatings, animal feed and pharmaceuticals. Plans are in place to continue the successful year on year growth and our hope is that our employees will grow and develop their careers alongside us.

Let’s talk about you!

You will have a relevant degree (or equivalent qualification), and at least a years commercial experience in a relevant business or laboratory environment. You must have good English and technical writing skills with meticulous attention to detail and maintaining physical and electronic records. Any experience of web content writing/design or commercial use of social media would be an advantage.

Your self-sufficient and practical attitude will be complimented by a flexibility and willingness to “roll up your sleeves” to work in a small team environment to achieve our common goals.

Although this role is office based in Richmond in Surrey, it will involve occasional travel to our sister company Bulk Powder Terminals at Canada Dock in Liverpool, and elsewhere throughout the UK from time to time.
