Buying Graduate Scheme
At Morrisons, we give hard-working graduates the chance to be part of a different kind of retailer – one that is regarded as having some of the best trading teams in the country.
Join us on our two-year Buying Graduate Scheme and over the course of two years, you’ll develop all the skills, experiences and personal qualities you need to succeed, while earning a starting salary of £27,000. This includes learning on the job by taking part in supplier negotiations, spending time with our experienced buyers and going on placements within a store. All while helping to impact on our success and make us even more competitive.

What you’ll be doing
You’ll start off as an assistant buyer before training to become a buyer of a product area. Specific responsibilities include sourcing and selecting ranges, negotiating deals and agreements, and forecasting sales and trade plans. You’ll also play a big role in everything from promotions and new product development to product launches, marketing and packaging.
You’ll be based throughout your two years at Hilmore House in Bradford, a buzzing office environment home to lots of different Morrisons teams. By the end of the two years, you should be ready to take charge of your own category with budget responsibility.

What you’ll need to join us
Our colleagues ‘Make Morrisons’. You’ll be no exception. So what we’re looking for is not just a minimum 2:1 degree but also the ability to see the fine detail and keep up to speed with products, competitors and the market. Great communication skills are important, as is the ability to lead, influence and build strong working relationships with all kinds of people. You’ll also need confidence, drive and resilience, as well as a good head for figures and plenty of common sense. A full UK driving licence is essential.
