Company Overview

We're proud to be the UK's biggest renewable energy company. We provide our members with 100% renewable electricity from solar, wind and hydro. Plus, our gas is 100% carbon neutral. 10% is green gas produced from renewable sources like food or farm waste. And we offset the rest of the gas we supply by supporting carbon reduction projects around the world.

We're changing the way the energy industry treats customers and saving the planet. It's simple things, like calling our customers 'members' that make us stand out from the crowd. We are also the first and only UK energy supplier to achieve B Corp status.

Our bias for action is why we are the fastest growing energy company in the UK. We recently hit 1 million members and this is something we're very proud of. Our sights are now set on hitting 2.5 million by the end of 2019.

Role Overview

Our Energy Specialists are responsible for Bulb's member experience.

A specialist at Bulb is unlike other customer-facing roles. You are at the forefront of the company, responding to a variety of queries everyday, speaking to lots of different people and resolving problems end-to-end.

Because of our intuitive digital experience, the majority of members self serve for simple issues. This means many of the queries you come across are more complex and require you to think on your feet.

We're looking for self-starters who care deeply about how companies treat their customers. Member experience is our number one priority so we want compassionate and thoughtful people with excellent written and verbal communication skills. We are one of the best-rated suppliers on Trustpilot; the hard work and commitment of our energy specialists helps us to maintain this reputation. You will be given extensive, world-class training in order to reinforce this.

Role responsibilities

  • You'll help Bulb's members on the phone, email and online chat with a wide variety of queries
  • You'll work in small teams, or what we like to call them, Pods, to find and deliver improvements to our tools and processes.
  • You'll work in a fast paced, target focussed environment constantly striving to ensure we're providing the best member service
  • You'll resolve simple queries efficiently whilst spending the time to investigate and resolve harder more complex ones

Why Bulb?

We are very proud of the brilliant team we have at Bulb. Because we attract interesting and interested people, you can be sure to find yourself surrounded by like-minded people. This encourages collaboration and helps us deliver the best service and products for our members. It is also the reason we have an inclusive culture where people are able to be themselves.

We want people who are energetic, enthusiastic and keen to invest time and effort into Bulb. In return, you'll learn vast amounts about the way the energy industry works, but also how a modern, innovative company engages with its customers. We are excited by people who relish personal development and continuous learning. This is why we offer dedicated time off and a generous budget for training.

You don't need any knowledge or prior experience, we're more interested in the skills and traits you bring along. We'll equip you with the relevant knowledge and tools to succeed.

Bulb is meritocratic; you'll get out as much as you put in. Many of our energy specialists go on to do brilliant work, at Bulb or elsewhere.
