The purpose of this role is to support the development of Cenex’s data monitoring, analysis and presentation capability within the Cenex Transport Team, delivering programmes and projects for our customers related to the development and deployment of new and emerging low emission vehicles and infrastructure. The job is open to both university leavers and individuals with industrial experience.


  • Development and maintenance of code for in-house analysis and modelling software, and updating of advice websites
  • Analysis of low carbon vehicle performance data, reporting and presentation of the results
  • Operation of vehicle performance modelling and simulation software
  • Undertake projects and programme support activities regarding low emission automotive technologies, markets, and fuelling
  • Development of questionnaires to assess individuals' and companies’ perception of low carbon vehicles
  • Develop and deploy analytical techniques to assess the performance of low emission vehicle types (electric, hydrogen, natural gas, etc.), and supporting infrastructure, for on road / in fleet operations (practical, economic and life-cycle)
  • Support the management of Cenex’s own low carbon vehicles, and the oversight of fleet assessment activities
  • Develop and write technical papers and reports (and present where required) on Cenex projects



  • Engineering or technical degree
  • Experience of programming in Python, SQL, VBA or Matlab for data analysis
  • Data analysis skills, with experience of Excel
  • Information collection, database and statistical analysis experience
  • Analytical mind
  • Good communicator, with experience of presenting and writing reports
  • Completer/finisher task orientated, capable of working unsupervised
  • Located near to Loughborough or willing to relocate


  • Computing, science or maths based qualification
  • Experience of working with web development technologies such as HTML, CSS and JavaScript
  • Experience of using GIS mapping software
  • Interest in environmental technology
  • Motor industry engagement
  • Vehicle modelling
  • Driving licence
