The Aspen Graduate Program develops the next generation of diverse leaders, innovators, and progressive professionals. Every year we take on a number of graduates into different streams including Underwriting, Actuarial & Capital Modelling, Business Transformation, Compliance, Internal Audit and Finance. Compliance is a fast-paced and evolving discipline as global events continuously shape the environment in which we do business. While being compliant with regulators' legislation and principles has always been important, the changes in the financial services industry following the global financial crisis of 2008 and preparations for Brexit have increased the amount of investment in compliance operations across the board. Compliance is a rapidly growing field and a major area of focus for financial services organisations.
Aspen's Compliance function has two roles: making sure that our conduct and business practices comply with regulation and principles and keeping our UK regulators, (the Prudential Regulation Authority and the Financial Conduct Authority), as well as other regulators in jurisdictions across the globe, informed about our business operations and any significant events affecting our business activities and performance.
You will have a view of all parts of our company, gain an understanding of how they operate with one another and build a network of stakeholders around the business to advise them on regulatory requirements around issues such as new legislation, internal controls and sanctions.
We are open-minded about the type of degree you have and are looking for graduates who are highly numerate and are on track to achieve a 2:1 or above and have good GCSE and A/AS Level grades (300 UCAS points).
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to quickly build relationships are crucial for success, as our roles are business-facing from day one. We are looking for candidates who are self-starters and are able to handle multiple tasks and prioritise demonstrating strong organizational and time management skills.
