Job Description

Our graduate transport planners develop safe and efficient transport networks, which are key to creating a successful economy. We contribute to creating solutions for many global challenges such as climate change and dealing with a growing population. We are working both in the UK and internationally to help create travel plans for governments and organisation such as hospitals, schools and major companies. We use the latest technology to carry out assessments, create transport plans and models.

You can apply to work in the following areas:

Transport planning - you will be working in a variety of transport projects from supporting the delivery of major projects, such as the Olympic Walking and Cycling Network and the design of local improvement schemes

Transport modelling - we create models to forecast use and demand of different transport systems to help aid policy making and helping to create an efficient transport system.

Rail planning - help to ensure that the rail network runs as efficiently as possible while the use of the network is increasing.

Traffic engineering - our teams use civil engineering techniques to achieve the safe and efficient movement of people and goods on roadways.

Candidate Specification

To apply for this scheme you will have less than 12 months experience and have achieved, or are expected to achieve, a 2.1 or above in one of the following degree disciplines:

• Transport or planning related degree

• Mathematics

• Geography

• Civil engineering

Ideally you will be able to demonstrate your interest through relevant experience, such as studying relevant modules, or previous work experience.

• Excellent verbal communication skills, which allow you to confidently liaise with clients and team members.

• Excellent written communication and attention to detail, and be able to demonstrate good report writing.
