Work Placements & Industry Years

A Work Placement often takes place between an undergraduates second and final year of University. Placements are usually build in to a course structure and can even be a compulsory element of certain degrees. Lasting between nine and fourteen months, the placements are designed to give a student comprehensive work experience in a relevant sector. When looking for a placement, you should always ask your University Career Service or subject leader first, as Uni's are often actively involved in helping students find placements. Sometimes referred to as Industry Year's, these year-long stints in employment will give you invaluable experience, connections and income.
