Cobham 2024 graduate opportunities}

Company Company Profile

Cobham's values of Trust, Talent and Technology have driven us from our launch in 1934 by Sir Alan Cobham, an aviation innovator, to becoming a global leader in state-of-the-art aerospace and defence systems.

Sir Alan worked tirelessly to make flying popular. His personal dream was that 'one day there would be a landing ground in every major town'. More than 75 years later, with airports commonplace, that pioneering spirit thrives. We have 12,000 dedicated professionals across five continents, producing world leading products and solutions, generating revenues of over £1bn.

We have a long track record of raising successive generations of innovators, pioneers and entrepreneurs, like Sir Alan, to be proud of. But more than ever, in a world of accelerating change and global competition, it is the talent we attract and encourage now that will underwrite our future.

"One of the things that really attracted me to the Cobham graduate programme was the breadth of opportunities available, as graduates are not restricted to a particular site or function. I have really been able to make the most of this by having varied placements. I have worked in an executive office at Bournemouth Airport, as an antenna design engineer and as a process engineer at our Marlow site, and currently in Operations for Cobham Avionics and Surveillance Division."

"In every role that I have had, I have been given real responsibility right from the start; whether it be preparing briefing materials and organising meetings for a Divisional President (in my second week!), putting together an engineering project proposal requiring significant capital expenditure, or managing a project to ensure that we have the right training and development plans in place for our Operations staff right across the business."

"I have found the graduate programme to be well structured, with a good balance between being able to get on with your day job, and being supported and developed through independent mentors, regular reviews and frequent training sessions."

Training & Profiles

Throughout the programme, you'll have regular performance and development reviews with your assignment manager. We'll also allocate a mentor to provide you with personal and professional support - plus a development log for you to track all your learning activities. FAQs

What are your application requirements?
If you're a graduate with a 3.5 GPA, first class or upper second class honours degree in an engineering or a business related subject looking to build an innovative, rewarding career, Cobham is the place for you.

Do you offer accreditation?
Our graduate programme is accredited by the Royal Aeronautical Society (RAeS) and the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE). Recently graduated engineers from accredited programmes have a distinct advantage if they decide in due course to register as a Chartered Engineer (CEng) or an Incorporated Engineer (IEng), as independent professional accreditation is well-recognised both in the UK and Internationally.
