Moore Stephens can offer graduates similar professional opportunities as a big organisation, but with the personal touch of a smaller firm.
Accountancy and Consultancy firm Moore Stephens are promising graduates the best of both worlds - pairing high levels of exposure to the professional world with the personal support found in smaller firms on their ACA Graduate Training Scheme.
The scheme is offered in Public Sector Audit, Audit Services, Insurance Sector Audit and Business Tax. Moore Stephens promises full study support through an ACA qualification to equip successful applicants with the required professional skills, as well as personal internal training to enable graduates to develop in their chosen stream.
Chloe, a graduate who works in Public Sector Audit, says this dual focus was one of the deciding factors for her when choosing to apply to Moore Stephens.
"I really like Moore Stephens LLP's size as it means that we know the partners in our group and they know us, which may not happen in a larger firm. I'm also really close with the graduates in my group as well as others based in other audit and tax groups. Although our roles may not require us to work together on a daily basis, we all regularly go out together."
Moore Stephens undertakes a variety of work under the umbrella of Accountancy and Consultancy, but specialises in Tax and Audit. Chloe loves her work because it is topical and allows her to form her own opinions about current affairs.
"I find auditing public sector bodies really interesting," she says. "A lot of what we work on are topics that are in the news and it is interesting to see the point of view of the people working in the sector. It allows you to form your own opinion about what is taking place in the public sector, rather than relying on the media."
Accountancy and Consulting have always been popular avenues for graduates, and Chloe believes that although she's trained on the Public Sector Audit scheme, she still has options open to her.
"I've always enjoyed subjects that involved maths and after speaking with family and university careers advisers I felt that a career in Accountancy would allow me to keep my career options broad."
