Graduates hoping to find jobs in the retail sector could be given a boost with the news that plans to develop a new Yorkshire shopping park have been brought forward.
The ONYX retail park, based at the former site of the Manvers colliery, has already created more than 70 new jobs.
Anticipated demand has encouraged developers Onward Holdings to move the second phase of the site forward, after the scheme attracted interest from a range of businesses.
The move could create an extra 10,000 sq ft of retail space at the site, with store space divided up into smaller units which could be occupied as early as August.
The ONYX retail park is located in Wath-Upon-Dearne, between Barnsley and Rotherham.
The 17,500 sq ft site is contained within the larger Waterfront regeneration development.
The scheme is also set to deliver 1,100 new homes and leisure facilities.
