Graduate job prospects have been given a shot in the arm after the announcement that Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) has been granted permission to build a £350m facility near Wolverhampton.
South Staffordshire Council and Wolverhampton City Council gave JLR the green light and said the plant, set for the i54 business park near the M54, could create up to 750 jobs.
The luxury carmaker said work on the site will begin in January and jobs in engineering and manufacturing will be created, along with hundreds more in the supply chain.
Plans were submitted by the firm, which is owned by Indian company Tata, in October and the manufacturer said it is investing to build low-emission engines.
The councils said they will now be working together to start a project to construct a new slip road off the M54 at junction 2 which would bring business into the i54 business site.
