Engineering graduates may be keen to hear of expansion plans at a leading British firm.
MB Aerospace (MBAe) has announced plans to double its workforce after unveiling a deal to buy Detroit-based Gentz Industries.
Gentz counts Rolls-Royce and Pratt & Whitley among its customers, and the tie-up between the two firms will create a global brand with revenues of more than 80 million US dollars (£51 million) every year.
MBAe has sites in Motherwell, Derby and Burnley and is run by 38-year-old chief executive Craig Gallagher. Once Gentz' workers are added to the total it will employ more than 400 people.
The merger will focus on aerospace and defence contracts, handling the complicated fabricated components from supply through to maintenance.
In recent years MBAe has merged with a number of aerospace and defence firms.
