Graduates may wish to turn to Ireland for job opportunities as two US-based companies have announced plans to expand their workforce and company operations.

Prometric, the technology testing firm that already employs 75 people, plans to recruit some 100 more by starting a new headquarters in Dundalk, Ireland.

According to Michael Brannick, president and chief executive of Prometric, the company is widely investing in people, software development and resources.

Mr Brannick further said: "Our decision to invest in Ireland allows us to expand our employee base globally, work in closer proximity to many of our customers and to provide test development services virtually around the clock."

Another firm, LANDesk Software, could also create 15 quality job openings with the establishment of an international financial services centre in Dublin.

The new centre will handle global finance across Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Australia, Singapore and Hong Kong.
