IT firms create jobs in Ireland - graduate jobs

A new IT centre in Galway will create 100 vacancies that may be of interest to people looking for graduate computer sciences jobs.

A total of 25 posts at Canadian technology firm Pivot Acquisition will be created this year, with a further 75 to follow in 2012.

Elsewhere, some 30 jobs will be created in Dublin when US-based IT firm Engine Yard sets up its international headquarters in the Irish capital. Fellow American IT companies Pinger and Commence will also be setting up in Dublin over the next three years, creating 15 and 20 new jobs respectively.

Irish jobs minister Richard Bruton welcomed the announcements made on the same day as the start of the Dublin Web Summit.

He said: "A key part of this Government's strategy to create employment and growth in the economy is to ensure that we can build on our established base of world-leading technology companies.

"This means ensuring that more and more dynamic and innovative international companies locate operations here, and ensuring that more indigenous companies start and expand on the back of their presence here."
