Graduates with computer skills are on the alert after an IT company unveiled plans to create 72 jobs in Belfast by 2014.
Micro Focus, which already employs about 50 people at its East Bridge Street premises in the city, will more than double its presence with the posts in software development.
Invest Northern Ireland has played its part by giving £864,000 in funding for the development, which will generate an extra £2.25 million in annual salaries.
Northern Ireland Assembly Enterprise Minister Arlene Foster praised Project Kelvin, a high-speed internet and telecommunications link between America and Ireland, for helping make the expansion possible as she said she expected even more IT jobs to be created in the country.
The Belfast operation of Micro Focus, which has a global workforce of 1,300, has customers in North America, Europe and India. The firm also has other outlets in the UK, USA, mainland Europe, Singapore and Australia.
