A graduate from a member institution of the Colleges Council is being offered the chance of a one-year paid internship with up-market retailer Harrods.
The British Fashion Council and the retailer have begun the Harrods Graduate Competition, allowing the winner to work with the company's fashion buyers to learn about design, quality assurance, buying and retail sales.
Tutors are being asked to nominate a few students for the British Fashion Council to consider, three of whom will be selected to work at Harrods for an assessment period of one month. Only one of them will be chosen for the internship, which will begin in August this year.
The fashion council's Caroline Rush said: "This new project provides a valuable opportunity for the winner to gain experience, skills and knowledge in key areas such as design and retail. The BFC's Colleges Council aims to develop opportunities for talented graduates to learn skills and undertake work experience that will assist in their professional development. I would like to thank Harrods for creating this fantastic initiative."
