A Belfast software company is doubling its workforce with a graduate intake aimed at expanding turnover in Europe and the US.
Philips Healthcare Informatics, part of the huge Dutch-based Royal Philips Electronics Group, produces cardiovascular information systems for hospitals.
The £1-million investment will see staff levels increase from 19 to 49, supported with £420,000 by Invest NI, the local economic development agency.
Says spokesman Stephen Gunning: "We have achieved 30% a year growth over the last five years and anticipate further substantial growth as we export to new international markets."
Trade minister Arlene Foster said: "The creation of these high-value specialist jobs shows that, even in an economic downturn, businesses that are focused on innovation and niche product development can continue to grow.
"This expansion project demonstrates the confidence that this blue-chip multinational group has in its Belfast operation and in the local skills base.
"ICT is a key growth sector for Northern Ireland and the availability of highly skilled IT professionals here has attracted many high profile companies that continue to reinvest."
