Online academy helps undergraduates - graduate jobs

An online academy has been set up offering help and advice to undergraduates, independent financial advisers and financial planners.

Alternative investment specialist Octopus Investments has launched the academy to give users information about investment products and access to interactive case studies and examples.

Octopus Academy gives users the chance to learn about different investment structures, such as EISs, VCTs, and other forms of investment in BPR qualifying assets.

Karl Jentoft, Octopus's director of investment business, told Money Marketing: "Users have a single reference point through which to enhance their knowledge so that clients get maximum benefit from any financial planning solution, which will in turn help them expand their business base.

"Additionally, the site will provide compliance departments with a robust method for training and assessment."

Nick Cann, chief executive of the Institute of Financial Planning, added that advisers and financial planners would benefit from the assistance as it would help them "to link the all important knowledge they need to the provision of comprehensive financial planning solutions for clients".
