Head Hunting Graduate Scheme Starting Jan 2014
This Times 100 Graduate Scheme is for the very top graduates who are keen to start their careers in the exciting and lucrative world of Headhunting.
Tasked with recruiting the very best talent from across the world, your career could take you into several different sectors: From finance, Hospitality, sport, media, IT or the energy market, your specialised area is your choice. However one thing is for certain, even as a graduate, your job will see you mixing with the very top names and individuals in your field - Whether it be bank directors or I.T. CEOs – even by the end of your very first year, you will have a network of connections and contacts that most mid level workers would be envious of.
This company is focused on bringing a fresh approach to the world of recruitment, working with an emphasis on professionalism, hard work and innovation. The modern offices are based in the heart of the city of London, however you can expect your day’s work to see you constantly out and about meeting clients or candidates. Duties are as varied as contacting prospective clients, researching new markets and interviewing candidates so no two days are ever the same.
However this doesn’t mean that your work is limited to London – The Company is looking for graduates who would be comfortable closing deals in cities across the world meaning your work could see you travel as far afield as New York, Paris or Singapore. As such additional language capabilities would be an excellent bonus for your career, in particular French of German.
For successful graduates the sky is the proverbial limit - there are team leaders who have only been in the company for 2 years, whilst one of the company Directors was himself a graduate consultant only 5 years ago!
The starting wage is up to £25,000 even without bonuses and commission. This commission structure allows a good graduate to earn up to £40k in their first year gaining a proportion of every deal you complete. The top graduate last year earnt over £51,000 and is on track to take home £75,000 this year and she is in no way an anomaly, it is just the high standards expected in the firm. This commission structure is not only unrivalled across any other industry but is also one of the best within this competitive market.
Graduates gain independence and responsibility from day one, therefore you need to be very self-confident and have great personal skills so that you are able to meet some of the most powerful people in London without any supervision – ultimately it is up for you to make a great impression and win the client over, rather than having someone senior do it for you.
So if you think you are a pro-active, independent thinking and motivated graduate who thinks they can take the recruitment industry by storm, this is the job for you. A top candidate would have at least a 2:1 from a good university, coupled with a strong work ethic highlighted by extensive work experience from a young ago. Additional Languages are a bonus as is a history of extra curricular activities through school and university, proving your ability to handle many activities all at the same time.
