Research Engineer

Over the last 25 years, our client has established itself as a leading manufacturer and supplier of quality water treatment equipment. Due to the continued success of the organisation, a new and exciting opportunity has been created to assist with the development of a new business venture.

This is an excellent opportunity for the successful candidate to develop and grow with the organisation. The ideal candidate will have an Electrical / Mechanical Engineering background (or similar) with strong AUTOCAD skills.

The role.

Initially, the role will involve the successful candidate undertaking major research using material in a variety of formats gathered over the past twenty years. The results will then be collated into a centralised database and paper based drawings will be transferred onto AUTOCAD. During this process, that could take up to a year to complete, comprehensive bills of materials and engineering drawings will be produced to enable the production team to build operational plant.

As the project moves forward, the role will evolve to one that encompasses that of a Project / Proposals Engineer. Therefore the successful candidate will need to possess excellent communication skills and a commercial aptitude to liaise with colleagues and clients at all levels.

Our client is IIP / ISO accredited and believes in long term training plans for the development of employees.


Essential Skills

Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or similar)
Strong AUTOCAD
Strong IT skills – Excel, Word, Outlook

Communication Skills

Starting Salary £18 – 22K depending on experience.
