The Company
Aunt Bessie's, part of the William Jackson Foods Group has a reputation for tradition and quality. Having introduced their famous Yorkshire puddings in 1974, Aunt Bessie's are now the world's market leader of this famous UK dish, producing over 2 million Yorkshire puddings a day.

The famous Aunt Bessie's name and reputation is home to a wide range of consumer products far beyond the constraints of a Sunday dinner! Products range across 10 key ranges: Yorkshire puddings, potatoes, vegetables, meal centres, traditional puddings, home baked goods, ready meals, savoury/sweet additions and chilled products.

The company now operates out of two state-of-the-art factories, both of which are based in Hull employing about 350 personnel. Aunt Bessie's supplies most major British supermarkets and the foodservice market as well as shipping products as far away as Canada and Australia.

Aunt Bessie's has shown an annual Brand growth of more than 12.5% and currently commands a £178 million value share of the sector and is also brand leader in the Yorkshire Pudding and the traditional hot desserts sectors.

The Role
This role will offer an opportunity to work across the purchasing and supply functions reporting directly to the Supply Chain Manager.

Key factors within the role will include;

• Purchasing responsibilities in both Category and New Product Development
• Responsibility for sourcing new raw materials as well as wider responsibilities relating to new product development
• Packaging sample sourcing.
• Packaging development coordination
• You will act as a key contact for Co-packed products and manage the dynamics around this developing area of the business.
• The continued development of supplier relationship management and contract management including the ownership of suppler reviews
• Supporting the existing materials scheduling function
• Supporting the development of the Supply Chain team and its links with it’s internal and external customers / suppliers.

In addition to these key areas you will also be responsible for supporting wider functions of purchasing and supply, growing your knowledge of this business area with the intention to progress within the company.

In order to apply for the position you must have a strong commercial awareness preferably gained through a combination of both academic and practical experience. An Honours graduate who has a sense of passion and focus for our products, for purchasing and supply and for the food industry as a whole.

Although not essential, experience within the food industry would be advantageous but the right type of person to fit with our business in more vital for your success.

As well as being a strong communicator you must be comfortable with working in a dynamic and target driven environment where teamwork is essential. You will also be able to build and maintain relationships and although you need to be comfortable with processing information, communication is key.
