The media and entertainment sector is changing dramatically. With innovation in its DNA, Siemens is at the forefront of this change. We’re developing new standards in broadcast transmission, including Digital Video Broadcasting and communication over broadband connections. And, in the first deal of its kind in the industry, we’re providing outsourced technology services to the BBC.
You’ll benefit from Siemens’ celebrated (and comprehensive) training and support, helping you to become a fully qualified broadcast engineer. As well as formal training at our Digital Operations Centre in Evesham, you’ll learn on the job. From day one, you’ll work in live BBC transmission areas, covering programme and maintenance needs. You’ll work with – and learn from – the local Supervisory Engineer, helping to maintain, align, modify and update electronic equipment and systems as required. Quick to get to grips with even the most complex technology, you’ll be on hand to advise operational and production colleagues on the technical capabilities of broadcast engineering systems and equipment.
Technically switched-on, with a flexible, innovative approach to problem solving, you’re ready, willing and able to develop your career in broadcast engineering. Ideally, your degree will be in an electronics-related subject; because of the complex nature of the role, we’d also like you to have an A-level (or equivalent) in Maths. It’s important that you’re flexible too: as we support live 24-hour broadcasting, there will be occasions when you’ll have to work nights and weekends (for which you’ll receive additional payments).
While you’ll play a lead role for Siemens, this position does not represent a route into the world of media, entertainment and/or television.
