Electronics Design Engineer - Sustainment Beds £26,000 - £45,000
My client is a large electronics organisation that is involved with the design, development, manufacture and support of complex electronic sensors and signal processing based hardware products. They supply the aerospace and defence market which also includes ground based and naval platforms too.
Primarily this type of role is focused on product sustainment as the some of the systems supported have long product lifecycles but there are other positions available which will involve new product design. The two sustainment positions will involve re-engineering, management of obsolescence, capability upgrades and overall PDS and product sustainment activities.
My client seeks two engineers that can work together on sustainment programmes. Ideally each will have good broad electronics experience covering analogue and digital electronics, possible RF, microwave and / or FPGA exposure. However they are flexible and will consider a purely analogue engineer and one digital design engineer.
Skills / Experience Required:
" Between 3-10 years of industrial experience is required
" HNC / HND or degree or equivalent in a relevant subject would be required (e.g. electronics, microelectronics, etc)
" Strong practical approach to engineering with good problem solving ability
" The ability to "pick-up" other engineer's designs and provide solutions to design issues
" Good experience of circuit design and integration NOT just device / logic design
" Good communications skills
Technical attributes: (as much of the following)
" Analogue design ability
" Digital design
" RF / Microwave design / theory
" FPGA design (using VHDL)
" Embedded systems design (Embedded C, microprocessors, e.g. PowerPC)
" DSP experience
Furthermore any experience of electronics sensors, electronic warfare, or avionics systems would be useful but is not essential.
Candidates will need to be able to obtain UK MoD security clearance
