The only media company to provide brand/product placement direct into student rooms, Student Aid is offering an exciting opportunity for any prospective marketer looking to kick start their career or get experience whilst at university. Student Aid requires an innovative intern to develop the digital media arm of the business to coincide with the launch of www.student-aid.co.uk in January 2010. The successful candidate will be an accomplished student with a sound grasp of the student scene and psyche, some commercial experience is preferred but not essential. The role requires a self starter with a sound understanding of marketing and the creativity to apply our concept to a variety needs and situations. This opportunity requires the intern to hit the ground running where they will be required to complete full project lifecycles from ideas and planning to implementation and completion, Responsible to: Directly to the Managing Director External relationships: Media agencies, potential partners, universities, student groups, clubs and societies. Internal relationships: Senior Management, Marketing, Finance and Administration Salary: Unpaid, on the job training + glowing references. Duration: Either Part Time (15 hours/week) or Full Time: 3 to 12 months Location: Hammersmith, London Main duties: • Create marketing campaigns across all types of media (digital, experiential, direct etc) that will help generate brand awareness and signups of www.student-aid.co.uk • Establishing partnerships within organisations that will be able to help raise the profile of Student-Aid.co.uk amongst the UK student population • Involvement within all other marketing operations to help develop all other elements and channels of Student Aid • Keeping abreast of issues affecting below the line marketing companies and the industry, collecting competitor intelligence. Skills, Knowledge and Experience required: • Innovative individual with an entrprenurial flair • A confident negotiator, ability to get the most out of any situation. • Strong client management skills and ability to manage expectations. • Capable of hands on problem-solving, with ability to generate ideas and solutions. • A positive and determined approach to researching and analysing new business opportunities. • Ability to use own initiative, pay close attention to detail and prioritise tasks. • Strong and confident communication skills. • Excellent organisational and time management skills. • A positive attitude to dealing with people and business processes. • Capable of working independently, and look further afield for opportunities.
