The Early Bird Catches The Tweet
Friday, 18 May 2012
According to an infogram on webanalyticsworld.net, Twitter is currently home to over 465 million accounts, and flies through 175 million tweets a day. Is it any wonder then, that recruitment agencies and departments are using this as a search tool for fresh blood? The standard account allows the searcher to see a picture of the potential employee, along with a miniature bio and a stream of comments that enlightens them to the personality that would normally be hidden during an interview. With the ever-expanding influence of social media, comes the responsibility of its users; sites like Twitter are no longer
Money Worry

Everybody who is or has ever been a student understands the tedious need to apply for loans, grants or bursaries and be subject to multiple evaluations and conditions. Getting a hold of Student Finance, both physically and mentally, is notoriously difficult, yet it's what comes afterwards that provides the serious problem for some applicants. Managing your own finances at eighteen years old can be a hard job for those who have always had Mother and Father there, pulling the purse strings when things got out of hand. Amongst popular thought, there is a negative criticism of students using University as a delaying tactic to kill time before settling into a full time job. However, despite the obvious financial benefits, such eating regimes certainly have no nutritional benefits. Without parents around to repeatedly mention the value of fresh fruit and vegetables in your diet, these healthy foods, soon become something of a novelty in the standard student flat. The 'student diet', therefore, weakens the strength of our immune systems and makes us more susceptible to catching an illness. Illnesses can spread hard and fast in institutes like a University, where thousands of people pass through every
Industry Standard

One of the scariest things about a hands-on degree is knowing that the minute you begin is the minute you join that industry. You're a baby; blind, led by the unfamiliar hands of your lecturers, and every step you take, every corner you turn is into the unknown. When I began my Film and Television Production degree at York St John University in September 2011, that was something that was drilled into us in every early lecture - "You're in the industry now, your career starts now". For most people doing a degree, it is a mode of progression into adulthood,
